FAMILY

MINISTRY

Partnering with parents to make disciples through time, moments, and milestones, from dedication through graduation and beyond.

Church of the Harvest’s mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. That begins with our youngest infants into adulthood. In our Infant and Toddler ministry, children begin to hear the basic Truths of the Bible through an age-appropriate curriculum and loving staff and ministry partners.

PRESCHOOL

Independence: Ages 4-5

Olathe: Ages 3 (potty-trained), 4 & 5 years old

In Preschool, we strive to create the first building blocks of a strong, gospel-centered, and Spirit-filled foundation for our children. We teach from the Scriptures and help parents proclaim to their kids who God is and what He has done in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

In COTH Kids, we build a strong, gospel-centered foundation while having fun. We do this by teaching about who God is and what He has done through Jesus through the testimony of Scripture. While attending COTH Kids, children are part of a small group of same-age peers with a consistent leader each week. Small groups enjoy activities and games that engage curiosity about the Bible Truth and solidify the practical application of those Truths. Children learn that God is wise, generous, loving, good and so much more. We partner with families in discipleship by creating fun environments, engaging curriculum, and helpful resources that center on the gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of a follower of Jesus.

PRE-TEENS

Independence:

Olathe:

  • Pre-teens: 4th-5th Grade

Our Pre-Teen Ministry begins an amazing season of creating an emphasis on the development of a personal faith based on milestones such as confession of faith and baptism. Each week your students go straight into their Pre-Teen environment where conversation and community begin to be formed in significant ways. We accomplish this by partnering with parents as the primary disciple-makers in their homes and by creating intentional environments where students can have fun, connect with friends, and be formed as disciples of Jesus Christ through the Bible and the work of the Holy Spirit. We especially prioritize fostering healthy small group life for students to belong and connect with.

middle school

Our Middle School Ministry COTH Youth (6th–8th grade) seeks to make disciples of middle school students who love God and love people. We emphasize the Word as the final authority in living a full and abundant life with a strong emphasis on identity formation in Christ. We accomplish this by partnering with parents as the primary disciple-makers in their homes and by creating intentional environments where students can have fun, connect with friends, and be formed as disciples of Jesus Christ.

We especially prioritize fostering healthy small group life for students to belong to and connect with. We offer opportunities for our Middle Schoolers to engage in serving as helpers in our Infant-Elementary age children during our 10:45 hour. We believe in developing leaders and a heart to make disciples through serving others.

HIGH school

Our High School Ministry COTH Youth (9th–12th grade) meets Sunday evenings for a special age-specific time of teaching. The Independence Campus Youth meets at 5 PM while the Olathe Campus Youth meet at 6 PM. We emphasize the Word as the final authority in living a full and abundant life with a strong emphasis on identity formation in Christ. As with Middle School, we seek to make disciples of high school students who love God and love people. We accomplish this by partnering with parents as the primary disciple-makers in their homes and by creating intentional environments where students can learn about who God is and who they are.

We want them to feel like they belong and to grow in understanding of their purpose as disciples of Jesus Christ. We offer opportunities for our High Schoolers to engage in serving as helpers in our Infant-Elementary age children during our Sunday morning services. We believe in developing leaders and a heart to make disciples through serving others.
